Ain't she TOO CUTE??

Isn't she just the cutest?? I just adore the Tildas and I have NONE!! I got this image a while back with a Blog candy I won, and I have been hoarding her...I finally broke down and colored her and made her into a card. Purple is one of my FAVORITE colors, so it just kinda happened...LOL! I colored Tilda with Watercolor Pencils then added some stickles to her wings. Found the matching gingham PP and layered her up. Dug thru my Primas and found a matching color ( funny how many shades of purple there are!!) and layered a couple of those, too. This is going to a dear friend who I have been missing alot this past week! We talked a bit, but it just isn't like
being near. Yeah, I am having a pity party, I will stop now! I got some new stamps today that I won in a Blog Candy earlier this month from SUINK. It is a Valentine Candy set, so I will have to see what I can come up with this weekend. I think I am gonna go see where I can get some of these adorable little stamps....I know they HAVE to sell them here in the US!! Have a FABBY Friday and stay warm!

P.S. I seem to have suddenly SHOT over 1000 hits, so it is time for a BLOG CANDY!! Keep an eye open as I will be posting it next week!!

Challenges in Black and White....

I love to do challenges, and rarely combine 2, but today I did. I used the sketch from
Sketch Saturday and SCS TLC205. I was going to add a kicker color to the black and white, but decided I kinda like just the 2 colors. The Dp is from DCWV Black & White Mat Stack. I used a rub on sentiment from SU Love and Happiness RubOns. Oh goodness, I just realized there is NO Stamping on this card....guess I better check my temperature, I think the cabin fever has hit...LOL!
I have been watching out the window all day as the sun starts to melt the ice, and it is pretty! Our area called off school again tomorrow...there are still so many without electricity and the towns on the mountains are still not cleared of ice on the roads. It would have been a great week off had I been able to go out of the house...LOL!! Shoot, a week home sick, then a week home stuck....I am actually LOOKING FORWARD to work next week...how ironic is that?
Well, I have a few other things in the fire, so I will be back in a bit. Stay warm, and be creative!

ICE is not nice....

but I am SUPER thankful to still have Electicity tonight. Our area has gotten almost 2 inches of freezing rain since Noon Monday, and there are MANY without electricity. I guess the Governor declared Arkasas a disaster area...
Out of fear, I didn't want to start any projects too large, so I thought I would work on ATC's for a swap. I just LOVE this PP I got at Hobby Lobby! Pink and Brown are so neat together! Super simple to make using the CB...add buttons and ribbon and it is complete~!
I hope you are all staying safe and warm! I don't think we are gonna lose power, so tomorrow I will work on some cards! Yup, we have another day off...YAY! Sweet Dreams!

Why Do I Need A Title?

I am brain dead today, so ya got a strange title...LOL! I went to work today...I feel MUCH better, but still tire easily. I don't think this will be a problem tomorrow, as we are getting an ice storm right now that is expected to continue over night, thus, we won't have school, and I won't have to work! YAY! I got a couple of cards made over the weekend. I saw the most adorbale little cowboy card on Splitcoast Stampers, and had to case it. I am sorry, I can't find it again to link it...arrgh!! I hadn't inked this little set from TAC called Wild West, so I thought this was the perfect chance. My Nephew has a birthday in February, so it is headed to Illinois.

The next one I did is obviously for Mother's Day. I just love this DCWV Stack with Sayings, and this color combo, so I just winged it...LOL! Simple, but I like how it turned out. I just cut the PP and layered it onto the pink CS, then that onto my white base. Added the Primas and Stamped saying, and voila, it was done. I wanna make a couple more similar to this...I have SO MUCH PP that needs to stand on it own and this is a good layout in my opinion.

Well, guess I am gonna go blog hop now in case we lose power like they are forecasting. Here in Arkansas, I guess they lose power if there is over 1" of ice. Shoot, the entire area STOPS if there is over 1" if snow...LOL! Stay warm, and I hope to see you all tomorrow!!

Sketch Time

Today after I got home from the doctor, I took a happy nappy then got up to do a Sketch Swap card. I will be home tomorrow, too, so I wanna stamp something for the heck of it, rather than for a swap for a change...LOL! I got my prognosis...I have pneumonia! Yup, chest pains for a reason. I got antibiotics, a steriod shot ( 2 actually), steroid pills, and an inhaler. Seems I have smokers lung, too, so I HAVE to quit smoking NOW or will end up like my mother, possibly sooner than she did! SCAREY! I have been referred to a Cardiologist for a stress test, just as a precaution. That's the verdict...not HORRIBLE...not wonderful, either.

Now onto better things. This is a card I made for a skech swap in one of my Yahoo groups. Pretty boring, but kinda cool, too. I used my Cuttlebug on the little stamp squares to cut and emboss. The paper is from DCWV Text Pack Mat Stack. Perfect for Valentine's Day, eh?

Wel, I am gonna cut this short, as I am tired again tonight. I hope over the weekend I can say I am NOT tired for a change!! Have a fabby Friday...see you tomorrow!

Wicked Wednesday

Oh what a day! I spent 5 hours in the Emergency Room today after having some strange chest pains at work today. The only thing they totally ruled out was a heart attack and I have Bronchitis again. I go for a follow up with my family doctor tomorrow so maybe I will have more info then. I DO know that I will be referred to a Cardiologist and a stress test...so they saw SOMETHING. I didn't work in Cardiology for years and not pick up a few things...LOL!

Anyhooo....enough of that! I did get a card made tonight for a Thinking of You Swap I am in. I wanted something simple and pretty, so I went for a single layer which is NOT easy for me, and alas I failed...LOL! Goodness only knows I'm not a one layer type of gal, so I did the closest I knew how. Yellow and purple are my favorite colors, so I used them on this card. I used the retired set Sweet & Sassy from SU. Did a little scoring for and added touch and called it done. I was happy...hope my fellow swappers are...
Well, I am off to bed...I am exhausted! Have a great night, and see you tomorrow!

Wow, 2 in 1 day!

I am still working on the swaps I have due out TODAY, and this is one of them. I just adore this stamp by Embossing Arts, Co. She is so fun to color! I used markers and chalk for her cheeks...
The BG paper is from DCWV Magnolia Pak from way back...I am still trying to use it all! I do LOVE those big 12 x 12 stacks, but, whew, using it all is a chore...LOL! The flower is a Giga Punch and the border punch is from Fiskars. I layered the flowe with a white Prima and was done. Simple...no bling...I like these ...hehehe. I have a couple more, and will share later this week. Have a great one, and stay warm if you are in the cold area of the country!

Dear Baby Boy...

I needed a QUICK card for a new baby boy, and this is what resulted. I am not thrilled with the way the scan came out, but it gives the general idea. It was quic...just some PP and star dies, ribbon and stickles, and I was done. Nothing fancy, just a sweet little Welcome to the World card for a new little man.
I have been working on some swap cards today, so I will be back with those later tonight or tomorrow. I hope you are all enjoying your long weekend and keeping warm! Heaven only knows what is up with the weather lately...geesh!

Monday, Monday

Well, I didn't get a lot accomplished over the weekend like I hoped...I got sick instead! Grrrr
Nasty bronchitis...got some antibiotic, so will hopefully feel better by tomorrow! I got this one card made, cuz I have been dying to play with these little owls from Clear Dollar Stamps. It was pretty simple...just stamped the little guys, then masked and added the branches. The leaves are 3 different little stamps, so you can fill in evenly. I used Crystal Effects on their little eyes and they jumped right off the paper.
Well, I have a meeting for work in a bit, so I hope to get back here soon. I have a few ideas I wanna put on paper today...headache permitting...LOL!

Wonderful Wednesday

I have been making images and coloring them for later use for the past few days. I went back to work full time at Bentonville High School, so coloring is about all I wanna do...LOL! I couldn't resist this little horse from Clear Dollar Stamps.
He just looks so giddy and playful, so I put him with a triple Laugh. I used some PP I had stashed away that matched the colors I used...I felt good I used some stash. I'm sorry I can't get into the description of this card...I am watching the interview of Barbara Walters talking to Patrick Swayze, and OMG, I know now why I have always loved this man! Not only is he a super hunky, sex god of a man, he is also a genuine wonderful person. They are discussing his Pancreatic Cancer and how he is handling it, and this strong person is inspiring in his faith and will to live. He is SO COURAGOUS! Ok enough...God Bless Patrick!
I am gonna close for now, and finish watching....I will be back tomorrow, I hope! Have a great Thursday!

A Couple Easy and Quicks

I have been LOVING making quicky cards lately! Does that mean I am getting lazy? I hope not...LOL! The first is one I wanted to do for a gal I interviewed with last Friday. She was so nice, and I really did appreciate her time, because I am actually NOT qualified for the position. Oh Well... I will get the job I am meant to have, eventually!
The next one I was just playing with the image. I just LOVE her, she is so fun to color and mount. I thought I would send it to one of my friends...friends ARE one of life's ultimate blessings!

Today I wanna play with my new Clear Dollar Stamps, so hopefully I will have some cute things to show you later! Have a blessed Sunday, and stay warm ( it is FREEZING here in Arkansas today!)

Rubber Hugs,
Julie

P.S. PLEASE be sure to check out the Blog Candy my friend, Joani, is offering! She has a wonderful blog...the talent oozes from her pores...hehehe! Give her a looksy

Shiney New Year

Here are a couple more cards from the SCS New Year's Eve Party. The first is from a BLING Challenge. You can't tell from the picture, but everything but the ribbon and brads are glittered. This was a messy one to make, but it was fun!

The second was for a Challenge called Black Tie Affair...to use black, white and gold/silver. I had one I was working on that was stamped and embossed and watercolored, but I managed to smear that one up BIG TIME, so I threw it in the circular file and did a quicky with PP from DCWV Glitter Stack. I LOVE how this turned out...the colors and sparkles just pull together to make it such a formal looking card. I didn't put a sentiment on it, so I can use it how I wish in the future. It was done with scraps and took me all of about 15 mins. Gotta love cards like that...LOL!
Well, I am headed to the Stamping Table for a few minutes...even if it is just to CLEAN It off...LOL! Have a great first evening of 2009!

HAPPY 2009!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Eve, be it at home or out with friends! This year I chose to stay home, and I got to participate in the
New Year's Eve party over at SplitcoastStampers!
OMG it was so FUN! I have never done anything over there except gawk at all the beautiful artwork that everyone does, but lastnight I stayed the entire 11 hours...LOL! Every hour they had a different challenge, lots of great prizes and TONS of fun chat! If you ever get a chance to participate in one of their VSN's ( Virtual Stamping Night), I suggest it highly!! They have one each month..and one for ScrapBooker's, too!!

OK enough of that...you got it, I enjoyed it...hehehe!
The first challenge was to make a friendship card with some kind of FOOD on it...I don't have alot of food stamps, so I went with the good old Cupcake stand-by. Since Purple is one of my favorite colors, I went right to it. It was fun digging thru the PP stash and actually USING some of it for a change.
The second card I have posted was the 9th Challenge. It was Happy New x2. I dug out a stamp set I have yet to ink up, ( actually, 2 different sets) used 3 CS Colors, and 2 different and NEW DP ( I just picked those up Tuesday night at Hobby Lobby) , 2 ribbons ( and they ARE straight IRL...LOL) and 2 die cuts. I thought this might be cute for a non-traditional Valentine. Whatcha think?
I have a few others I made lastnight to show ya, and a couple that I started lastnight to finish, too. Hopefully, I will be back later. Have a WONDERFUL January 1, 2009! WOW it feels strange to type 2009...hehehe!
